We aim to be the primary service provider for the people and entities responsible for the care, movement, and long-term preservation of art and culture.

To that end, our Museum Technician/ Driver's are responsible for ensuring the safe handling of artwork, during transit, from one Crozier facility to another. In addition, the candidate will be assisting with the loading and unloading of freight, ensuring the integrity of all artworks stays intact.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the handling, packing, and moving of museum objects under the guidance of senior staff.

  • Learn and apply museum best practices for object care and handling.

  • Assist with the inventory and documentation of collections, including data entry and photography.

  • Perform basic cleaning and maintenance of artifacts and exhibit spaces.

  • Prepare objects for exhibition, storage, and loan, including labeling and mounting.

  • Assist with the installation and deinstallation of exhibitions.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • Support the Collections team with various projects as needed.

  • Adhere to all museum safety and security protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., museum studies, art history, history, anthropology) preferred.

  • Familiarity with Museum Collections Management Systems is preferred, but not required

  • Strong interest in museums and cultural heritage.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, communication, and ability to follow instructions.

  • Ability to lift and carry objects of various weights.

  • Basic computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Basic photography skills a plus.

DRIVER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to safely operate 26-ft box truck, at minimum

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Clean/Clear driving record with ability to pass all driving check

  • CDL license not required but preferred

  • Travel: Local = 95% Overnight = 5%
